Writing Elegance

Am I writing or am I typing?

I intended to write about writing, however the world is becoming digital, for better terms modernized writing is typing. Instead I get to type to you about the essence of writing. Writing is a form of communication, an expression of our culture and uniqueness. The originality of writing comes from our individual style, no wonder why there are varieties of fonts and sizing. Writing style is even broadened when we write with our left hand or right hand. Writing is a milestone in life that we reach at a certain age and it continues to develop as we reach new milestones through education. There is a thought, a task, a message that could be conveyed, although the mode of writing has become technical. There is no doubt that writing has been modernized for better productivity and the speed of communication. In fields such as legal studies the quicker way at times to take note or deliver a message is to write it down. Like with any form of communication how the message is received is equally as important as its delivery. When we analyze art and visual posts the message is oftentimes made clearer in writing. Writing is a tool that can be used to express language, gestures, visuals, spatial, and aural modes of communication. When journaling, blogging, or writing novels I always believe the best draft is always handwritten first. Some of us can even remember the time it was required for students to learn cursive writing in elementary/middle school.

I envision writing as the elegance of the pen and paper. The best part about writing is the audience is whomever you intend it to be. It is rare to read about something written that is intended for every ethnicity, age, gender. Children write card letters to their parents on special holidays, grandparents write notes in cards they send to their grandchildren. Writing is intended for everyone. Although some people would much rather hear about it or type. As emotional creatures, writing is a mental digestion. The connection with writing is you get to release any emotion, thought, we get to express what we may oftentimes withhold rather we have an audience or not. Not only do we get to express ourselves freely without correction, it gives a sense of your thoughts being addressed and acknowledged. Writing also gives us a choice on what to do with those thoughts when we do not know what to do. We are able to release those thoughts in several ways. Writing sparks new ideas and gives clarity to situations that sometimes just need to be written down then released to understand misinformation and understand the broader idea of things.

Today's society is informed through a faster way of communication, social media, however they also are misguided by social norms and misinformation. Writing can positively impact society, especially the youth by teaching positive ways to communicate and express themselves through writing such as journaling and diaries, then finding positive ways to release these thoughts. Writing can impact today’s society by being a tool for correcting or analyzing behavior. There are times people may not understand the trouble they may have committed, writing it as the troublemaker then reading it using their own judgment rather it be after they have written it or waiting and revisiting it may help their understanding at a different perspective. Writing gives a sense of peace, understanding, and it allows us to stop and live and revisit the moment around us. My question is, is there a difference in writing and typing?

Writing is not just confined to pen and paper, however it is an art. We write song lyrics, books, write with paint, crayons, pencils, on canvases, on walls, spray paint writings on trains. The elegance of writing is art and its form. Writing is the freedom to express yourself to whomever your audience may be with your own style, originality, and culture. Writing can be designed in typing to create a variety of fonts and colors. Writing is what writers does. It allows our thoughts to roam and imagine what may seem as impossible. It may have an impact that paves a way for new engineers and innovators to be a better healthier productive generation for future generations. Well, this is my thoughts on writing and as it is PERIOD.
